Oh dear I didn’t get off to a good start with the daily photo theme for December. Never mind I shall simply do 2 today. Yesterday’s theme was: 1. Something green.
I had quite a good think about that and couldn’t really come up with anything actually green coloured. I didn’t want to show you photos of trees or the park as you have seen loads of those. So instead I am showing you the little plastic compost bin that sits on the end of my kitchen work top.
Its’ grey! LOL! But it is also green. All my compostable kitchen waste goes in there. When it is full I empty it into a plastic sack which we then take to the allotment where it is emptied into the large composting bin. It’s amazing how quickly this little bin fills up but it is equally amazing how quickly the level in the big bin goes down and the rotting and composting process takes place. This is my big bin at the allotment.
Today’s theme is: 2. The inside of your main food cupboard.
I have lots of units in my kitchen as you have probably seen in photos. Many of them have food. This one is a tall unit so contains quite a lot. Having said that it is rather empty today. I am going to be doing my online Tesco shop later.
The top shelf has things such as tea and coffee on one side and jams, honey, pickles on the other. The middle shelf has tinned goods such as baked beans, tuna, tomatoes etc and sauces in jars such as curry paste. The bottom shelf has a large plastic tub where I keep bread and a small one for crackers.
Underneath them I keep large storage jars for all my different kinds of sugar and rice. Bottles of drink go down there too and spare bags of flour and tinned fruit. I have actual flour canisters which go on an open shelf in my kitchen.
The challenges up until Sunday are:
3. A doll.
4. Today’s weather.
5. A close up of your eyes.
Saturdays one might be interesting it’s that favourite British subject the weather! It is bitterly cold here again today but no more snow. We still have snow on the ground but we haven’t had more. It has been predicted a few times but hasn’t arrived. Simon made me laugh this morning.... A huge number of British schools have been closed, but not here. He fancies a day off so he can catch up on some reports.........he says he thinks he will put in a complaint to the government, how come everythwhere else has got a ton of snow and we haven’t ? It really isn’t fair! I said we will probably get a ton of it over the weekend but it will be melting in time for school on Monday!
