Mondays make, do, or mend on Tuesday!

Right, time to do my Monday, make do or mend blog. Yeah, yeah I know it isn't Monday but I’m still playing catch up here. I missed last weeks one because of all the stuff going on here so this one encompasses 2 weeks worth of fun!
So let's have a think, what I have I done, what have I made? Well the sock monkeys are completed although the red one is going to get a scarf. The 2 blue ones are called Eric and Ernie and they will shortly be emigrating to new homes in Merika.
I have got 3 pairs of stripy socks for 3 more monkeys. 1 each for Flynn and Jessica and the third one for a special lady.
My Kindle pouch finally has a button and loop and is now in use. The lap top bag ended up too small so Denise is going to show me how to put a gusset in it which will make it OK. Should hopefully get that finished Thursday night when we will be going to Denise's house for a sewing evening.
I did get my skirt cut out successfully and last week at Denise's I sewed up the 3 seams. My “homework” is to neaten all 3 seams by zigzag stitching along the raw edges. On Thursday we are going to learn how to put the zip in!!!!
I finished off my tin can plant pot for my baby cactus and I am quite pleased with it. I also covered an old tin foil meat tray thing with a scrap of material to make a container for some more cacti. I added the ribbon trim today and burnt my finger in the process. It's not great but better than just putting them in the silver container. I did it with Mod Podge so it is water proof. I'm liking Mod Podge more and more.
I finally finished off the clip that I was making to hold receipts. It hasn't worked out really! I couldn't lay my hands on an appropriate clip. Then I read somewhere that the clip from an old skirt hanger would work so I used that. It didn't work because the clip bit is to loose to hold the receipts! Start over!
I also tried a new cake recipe last week which wasn't successful. It's Coralies recipe and I had it at her house and it was great. It's sort of like a giant brownie cake. Mine ended up burnt on top! Once I sliced the burnt bit of it was OK although quite dry. We ate it with custard which improved it. I really have to get my oven looked at. The temperature is way out and it is hard to juggle.
Do you remember over a week back now, that parcel I received? The parcel full of goodies to make bath bombs and stuff? This is a new thing for me. I have never tried it before. Here are the things I ordered.

Here is how to make them.
So far I have made vanilla bath salts and Kenzo Flower bath bombs. The bath salts smell wonderful and look quite nice. I am going to finish them off with labels (which I can't print right now because of PC problems) and ribbons.
The bath bombs which were scented with an oil that is supposed to smell like my favourite perfume, Kenzo Flower, are OK. The colour wasn't really what I wanted and they could do with smelling stronger. They also cracked all over as they dried out. I used one in my bath the other day and it was fine. I need to improve on them though so I shall be making some more. I will post the recipes that I used soon in case anyone else wants to have a go.
I think that is about it. This week, I shall be: 1. Finishing off the lap top bag. 2. Doing more of the skirt. 3. Doing some embroidery. 4. Starting more sock monkeys. 5. Knitting a scarf for the red sock monkey. 6. Making my March birthday cards. 7. Trying to learn how to crochet!! I'll let you know how it goes.
