On Thursday evening Coralie and I went to Denise's house to do our sewing. I PUT IN A ZIP!!!!!! ON MY OWN!!!!!! I was so pleased with myself. I just hope that I will remember how I did it for next time. All I have to do now is to measure where I want the hem and I think we are going to hand sew that. Then I have to finish the waist band with facings.
Here you can see my attempt at zig zagging the raw edges of the seams inside. I had never used zigzag before.
LOL! Here I am modelling it before the zip was put in.
My lap top bag still didn't get finished because we were busy with zips.
At home I have been doing more sock monkeys and embroidery. This flower cross stitch picture is for a present for a family member whose birthday is coming up shortly.
The red sock monkey who is called Kenny finally acquired his knitted football scarf. I am not great at knitting, can only really do plain and purl. Apparently although Kenny is a Liverpool supporter I have knitted him an Arsenal scarf! Well I thought Liverpool was red and white?????? Anyway, Kenny has now gone to live up t'north. He is on route right now.
The other 3 sock monkeys are all at different stages as you can see.
It seems that these are popular items, I have been asked for more. Good job I like making them.
I haven't attempted any more crochet this week as I was using the wool for Kenny's scarf. I shall be trying again this week.
Cooking wise was really boring. I made my normal bread which I do every couple of days and some fairy cakes. Real adventurous!
I also made 2 lots of body scrub. The first lot I shall use myself. It is lavender and has real lavender buds in it.
The larger jar is vanilla and saffron and I shall use it as a gift for someone. I need to make it a label and tie some ribbon round it or something.
Lastly I made 2 cross stitch cards. This one with the basket of flowers, not sure who it is for yet.
Then there is this larger one which is for my daughter in laws birthday in a few days time.
So that was last weeks efforts. I just wish there were more hours in the day as I have so many things I want to do. Apologies for poor photos again. I need to get some software installed on my new computer.
