Mondays make, do, or mend

I'm doing this on the correct day for once, did ya notice?  I have done very little this last week so I don't have much to show.  We did our sewing with Denise last Thursday and I have attached a waist band facing of bias binding which I made.  I have zig zagged the bottom hem and all that is left to do is sew the hem and then sew the waist band over.  It will be finished this week and I will model it next week.

I have just ordered some patterns so that I can get on with my next project.  Denise said Simplicity patterns are good for beginners so I checked out their website.  I also Googled patterns and struck lucky as I found a UK site that does lots of different patterns at a discount and the Simplicity ones were half price!  I have ordered a skirt pattern and 2 different dress patterns for me.  2 bag patterns....fancy bags not just totes.  A dress pattern for Ellie and a pattern with sundress, shorts and sun top for Ellie.  Oh and an animal neck pillow pattern too!

I think I may begin with a bag and a dress for Ellie.  All I need to do now is to find a cheap source of material as John Lewis and Hobbycraft are very expensive.

I still have sock monkeys on the go and in fact I have just got 3 more pairs of socks as these little guys are proving popular!

This lavender coloured, stripey one is now finished.  She is called Peggy.  Unfortunately her white mouth has ended up looking a little scary! She is shortly going to be posted to her new home somewhere down south.  They are getting around these little critters!

I have finished 2 embroideries that have been laying around for years and got them in some cheap frames that were on offer in Sainsburys of all places.  They are going to be used as gifts. The photos are not good but you can sort of see.

Cooking wise has been nothing out of the ordinary.  I have made several tray bakes for Simon to take to school.  I made another one today for him to take in tomorrow.  He is working late again as they are running extra sessions for the exam kids.  That is now 2 nights a week that he is working until 9pm.  It is crazy.

I am going to start on my April birthday cards tonight so I will be able to show you them next week.

See I told you that I had hardly done anything!  Note to self, find more time this coming week for doing craft stuff.
