Today’s photo, thingamy, whatsit is: 23. A tree near your house. I am lucky there are lots of trees near my house as it backs on to a park. I have shown you photos lots of times. So today I have decided to go for a tree that is in my own garden. We have several trees along the back fence, 1 apple, 1 pear and 1 flowering cherry. You may recall the saga of Simon chopping the pear tree down as it was too large. It has grown back!
Anyway, the tree I am showing you is my Acer tree or Japanese Maple. In this photo, taken today, it is looking very sad. Most of its leaves have gone. It will be totally bare in a few days. Its thin delicate branches look very pretty when they are covered in frost although there will often be a spider web amongst them!
This next photo shows the same Acer tree in all its glory earlier in the year. I really like Acers. There are many different kinds and if we ever get to move to a house with a decent size garden I will have some more.
These next 2 are close ups of the leaves. Can you believe that colour? Nature really is glorious.
The photo challenge for tomorrow is: 24. An old school photo. Remember to interpret this anyway you like. It doesn’t have to be your school photo.
We have a few new people doing the challenges so I will try to update the list when I get time. Have a great day.
Jilly
