Well everything went fine while we were away in Madeira. In fact Saskia manged to find herself a flat which she moved into finally just over a week ago. It took a while to sort out as they have to verify your employment details etc.. and of course Mum and Dad have to cough up loads of money for the deposit and first months rent.
It is supposedly a loan, but when she will pay me back I have no idea. Funny, I have been in this situation before! When exactly does paying out for your kids stop?? Anyway, she has moved in and seems to be happy with it. It is very, very near to school which is good. It is also just across the way from a pub where she has got a job waitressing a couple of nights a week. This is in addition to her job at school. It is her attempt to earn some extra cash.
Joshua decided at the end of term not to return to his teaching assistant job as he didn't really like it. Fortunately as soon as he got back from his holiday he got himself another job. He is working as a customer services adviser for Hotpoint. He has finished his training period and seems to be happy with it for the moment.
I personally don't think it is what he is looking for and wonder how long he will stay. The thing is that I don't think he knows what he is looking for yet. Still the money is good so he is happy for now. His girlfriend Charlotte, who has lived with us since Christmas due to family issues has just moved out last week. She has gone to live with her Nan and Grandad as her Grandad is ill and she is going to give her Nan some help. This hasn't meant we have seen any less of her.
So, Simon and I are back down again to only having one child in the house and it is so nice! It's quieter and calmer and nowhere near as messy. Also my things stay where I put them and don't disappear. My special bubble bath doesn't mysteriously empty itself. Bliss!
