Firstly, I have to just mention that the photo is an old one of Verity taken in 2000 when she was sweet sixteen. She looks nothing like that now. Unfortunately I don't have any recent ones that aren't already in my blog as Verity has been away all summer.
I have already posted about Verity's excellent degree results making her a Bachelor of the Arts. While we were away in Madeira, Verity was waiting for the results of her maths GCSE which she re-took in June at Simon's school.
She had to re-sit as she needs to have a grade "C" in order to do her post graduate course. Well I am very pleased and proud to announce that she got the grade "C". Congratulations Verity.
She has spent the summer with her boyfriend Adam working in Dublin. Last week she flew back home to Southampton ready to begin her Post Graduate Certificate of Education. Today she starts her teaching practise and I have been thinking about her and hoping that it all goes well.
She is doing it in a catholic primary, which she thought would be quite nice as she went to a catholic school herself. However, it is apparently in a really dodgy area, so she is not sure yet what to think.
It's strange that they do some teaching practise before the University term begins. It seems an odd way round to do things. Simon reckons that it is so that they can see if teaching is really for them and if it isn't then they don't start the course. Maybe he is right.
Anyway, hopefully it will all go well for her and next June she will finally be a qualified teacher. Hopefully by this time next year she will be a teacher with her first job.
