The weekends daily photo themes.

Well I’m behind again!  Never mind let’s just get right on with it.  Yesterday’s daily theme was: 22. A lake. (Suggested by Nancy)
Well since I showed you the river Nene yesterday and also mentioned Ferry Meadows Country Park it seems that the best thing to do is to show you the lakes at Ferry Meadows.  I’ll tell you a bit about it first though.  It is just a few miles from my house.
Ferry Meadows Country Park is part of the Nene Park which stretches for 10 km along the beautiful valley of the River Nene immediately west of Peterborough and is managed by Nene Park Trust.  The country park is situated in a large meander of the river Nene. It has lakes, meadows and woodlands so it is a very popular destination for local people and thousands of visitors throughout the year.
There is a visitor centre there too, from which all sorts of outdoor activities take place. They have wardens who run classes on various things.  There is a sailing and boating club and of course the Nene Valley steam railway runs just along the edge too. The park is an ideal place for picnics.  It also has its own camping and caravanning site.
It was where Charlotte and I did the Race for life last June. It is also just on the edge of Orton Longueville, a Peterborough district were Sue tells me her parents once lived.
Here are some photos of some of the lakes.
This is a photo of the Ferry Meadows station.
Ok, so today’s theme is: 23 your favourite article of clothing. (Suggested by Pam)
I’m not sure that I have a favourite piece of clothing. As I no longer work and spend a lot of time indoors, at home, on my own, I am afraid that I tend to slob around in black leggings and tunic style tops.  I hardly ever wear jeans, which seems to be the favourite for most people.  I am a skirt and dress person really. So what to show you....hmm...you have all seen me in my day to day slob out clothes.
I know....my new coat!  It is my favourite thing at the moment because it is brand new.  I got it on Thursday when I went to town with Coralie and the boys.  I had been thinking that I could do with a new coat but I didn’t go to town with the intention of buying one.
It was all Coralie’s fault really.  We were in John Lewis department store when Evan decided that he needed yet another “wee” (visit to the toilet. He has recently come out of nappies so visiting the toilet is a novelty!)  Coralie left me with Flynn while she headed up the escalator to the floor above where the toilets are situated.  They were gone a while.
I was browsing around the ladies department when I saw the coat section and I could see that some of them were in the sale so I had a look.  I tried on a couple.  They were ok.  Then I found this one that was a sort of tweedy pattern in black, white, brown and purple. Perfect for disguising dog hair was my first thought.  My current bright blue coat shows every tiny hair!
It is a swing style coat which is good for hiding.......well whatever you want to hide really!  So I tried it on.  I liked it. It was reduced from £269 (which I would never have paid!) down to £99. I was just considering if I wished to pay that much even though it was a bargain when Coralie came back and said how nice it looked and how well it suited me!  She actually said “it’s very flattering on you” which I think means it hides all the bits I don’t want you to see!
Anyway, I had to have it.  It is very well made so should last through a good few winters.  As I don’t have a photo of me in it yet, I have snaffled this one from the Windsmoor web site.
The themes for the rest of the month are below:
24. Your Mum. (Suggested by Pam)
25. Beach. (Suggested by Jenny)
26. Shadows.
27. Sunshine.
28. Wind.
29. Something orange.
30. Something black.
31. Something brown.
