Thirteen Tuesday (copy)

Today’s Tuesday Thirteen is thirteen things beginning with the letter " G ", that have some relevance or meaning for me. As usual they are in no particular order!
1. Gold. I like all things gold! It's much more my colour that silver. My wedding ring is gold.
2. Grease. The movie Grease not kitchen grease. It's one of my favourite films. I have also seen the live stage performance in London and have seen Saskia play the role of Sandy too many times to count.
3. Girly. Yes, I am a girly girl. I love all things feminine and pink. Actually, I think feminine was one of my "F" words!
4. Gladys. My Aunt Glad, who was so very good to me when I was younger. She is Wendy's Mum and sadly has Alzheimer's disease the same as her sister Iris, my Mum. I have a lot of respect for Aunt Glad.
5. Green. Not the colour green but being "green". I have been making a lot of effort to live a greener life style.
6. Garden. I have never been much of a gardener, but as I get older, I am getting more into it. I am very pleased with the way my garden looks now. Perhaps when I am really old I will take it up as a hobby.
7. Genealogy. This is the study of family history and I have been very interested in my history for over 25 years. I can trace my family back a very long way and have done extensive research. It takes up a lot of time and can cost a lot of money too, but it's exciting. I am just wondering as I type, if family history was also one of my "F" words!
8. Green Man. This is a very nice pub near to us in the village of Marholm. We go there quite often for a meal. It has a very large tree outside which is in the shape of a large man, hence the name.
9. Gonville Crescent. This is the name of the street in Stevenage where I was born and where my dad still lives. I didn't leave there until I got married. Simon and I also lived there for one year before coming to Peterborough. We lived in a house at the bottom of the road from my parents. Strangely that house backed on to a park, just as our house does now.
10. Grand child. You all know how excited I was and still am to have my first grand child Ellie Grace. She is gorgeous.
11. Gnomes. I am not really into gnomes, but when we had our first house we had a very large gnome in the garden, which disappeared. We got post cards from him for a while. He was off travelling the world. We never got him back. I think it had something to do with one of my cousins. In fact he is probably alive and well in their garden. I don't want to mention names as Gnome napping is a serious business. (Martin)
12. Gillian. My given name. Strangely I have never been called Gillian but always Jill by my parents and Jilly by Simon and friends. I also spell Gillian with a "G" and Jilly with "J"!
13. Grateful. I am extremely grateful for everything that I have and I know that I have been very lucky in my life so far.
