Thursday 11th December

I have done some housework and had a couple of cups of coffee and I am now having some computing time.  I have been browsing around some new blogs again.  I am particularly liking the ones that are about green living, frugality and sustainability.  Check out this one which is great: http://bean-sprouts.blogspot.com it is written by a lovely lady who tries hard to live a green life style.  She has an allotment and keeps chickens and bees... Oh I wish!
She has made me think about lots of things though and I have made a couple of request this morning on Free-cycle.  No I didn’t ask for any chickens, although I would love to have some.  Maybe one day when we are finally able to move to somewhere with a bigger garden.  When she was small Saskia always wanted her very own chicken and said she would have one when she grew up!  She wanted cows and lambs too!
Anyway, my request on Free-cycle was for books on “green living” and gardening for novices, particularly for vegetable gardening.  I also asked if anyone had an unwanted composter or wormery.  My second request was for books on bee keeping as both Simon and I are quite interested in that but I think it is something that is harder than it seems.
I have also been browsing some favourite craft blogs this morning and I so wish that I had more time. Maybe if I didn’t do so much blogging!  Then I wouldn’t get all these ideas!  Did you notice that I have also added another daily click button to my side bar?
I like these as they remind me to do my daily click and hopefully some of you also see them and click too.  The new one is for the Animal Rescue site based in the USA.  The idea behind these buttons is that you click on them each day and then the site sponsors donate to the cause in this case with food. This is what it says about the Animal Rescue site:
The Animal Rescue Site focuses the power of the Internet on a specific need — providing food for some of the 27 million unwanted animals given to shelters in the U.S. every year. Over 10 million animals are put to death every year in the U.S. alone because they are abandoned and unwanted.
Each click on the purple "Click Here to Give - it's FREE" button at The Animal Rescue Site provides food and care for a rescued animal living in a shelter or sanctuary. Funding for food and care is paid by site sponsors and distributed to animals in need at the Fund for Animals’ renowned animal sanctuaries (including Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch in Texas and the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in California), pet shelters supported by the petfinder Foundation , North Shore Animal League, and other worthy animal care facilities supported by the GreaterGood.org foundation.
I also have a breast cancer daily click button.  If you are interested there are other causes that can be supported with a daily click, world hunger, child health, rain forests, and literacy.  I wish I could find a click button that would help animal charities specifically in the UK.  Anyway, don’t forget to click my buttons!
Right time to get moving and do a few more jobs as Coralie is popping in after lunch with Evan. Talking of lunch reminds me, the dish I cooked last night, sausage and lentil sizzle, was really delicious.  We all liked it and I will be doing it again.  Surprise, surprise, I like lentils!
