Tuesday thirteen

Tuesday Thirteen time, this week it's 13 SCENTS/SMELLS I LIKE
1. Wet dog smell!  Yes, I know it sounds horrid but it's not!  I love it.  It shows they have had a great time.  There is a difference between wet dog smell and dirty dog smell!
2. Butter. I like the smell of butter particularly on hot white toast made with freshly baked bread, so I guess I like toast smell too!
3. Mulled wine and Cinnamon.  This smell reminds me of a holiday we had some years back in October in Boston USA.  Everywhere we went they were selling (or sometimes giving away) Hot apple cider, which isn't quite mulled wine but similar. The smell was gorgeous.
4. Roses, although quite often they don't seem to have much scent nowadays.
5. The perfume "Flower" by Kenzo is my all time favourite.  It's gorgeous.
6. The scent of the rain on a warm day.  Once the rain stops there is a sort of new smell about everything.  I think the smell of grass is in there somewhere.
7. Pigs! yes the smellier the better!  We used to live opposite a pig farm when we were first married.
8. Lavender. I use lavender essential oil for lots of things, headaches, bites, stings, stress relief...the list goes on.  I like to put a few drops in the bath when I am tired too.  I have a bad neck today so I have a wheat bag with some lavender on it draped around my neck.
9. Baby smell. Who doesn't like newborn baby smell?  I have to say though that they smell differently nowadays because new Mums are forbidden to use talcum powder.  Maybe it was just Johnsons baby powder smell that I liked!
10. Chocolate. Another smell that I would imagine most people like.  Go in one of the chocolate shops like Thorntons or Hotel Chocolate...yummy!
11. New book smell. If you are an avid reader like me, you will know exactly what I mean.  there is nothing like the smell and feel of a brand new book.
12. Coffee, freshly brewed and strong.  I can't stand the bitter smell if it's burnt though.
13. A juicy sizzling steak, frying to (Rare) perfection in the pan.
Well Apart from wet dog, which is probably only for the more sophisticated nose, I think most people will like the things on my list.  I notice there are several food and drink items in there, typical!  5 in fact, which is nearly half!  You can see what I like.
The tag below is one of my own.  It was originally a photo of a large rock that we saw on the beach at Lulworth last week.  It has lots of little fossilised shells in it.  I have messed it around in my Photo Shop to get this effect.
