A quick update on my Doctors appointment this morning. My blood pressure is still very high. My blood test results show that I have Chronic Kidney Disease. I have to go for more blood tests tomorrow at the local hospital and I am waiting for another hospital appointment for Stamford hospital where they will carry out scans and a cytoscopy (something like that!) It doesn't sound pleasant and I am a real scaredy cat. I have to be knocked out just to go to the dentist!
Until I have had the tests they can't say what the cause might be. In the mean time I am supposed to take things really easy, drink plenty of water and watch my intake of salt, phosphates, proteins and potassium. They will not give me drugs for the high blood pressure until they know what the cause of the Kidney trouble is. Chronic Kidney Disease causes high blood pressure. I'm sure this news hasn't helped either as I now feel really scared. Apparently Kidney disease gives you a much higher risk of heart attack and stroke. Not good news.
I have the interview this afternoon for the sales assistant job. The interview is in a hotel in town and Simon is going to come home in his lunch hour and drive me in. I feel too stressed to mess around on the bus. I would like to get this job as it is only 12 hours a week and is a few minutes walk from home. I'll let you know how I get on later.
