I am just about ready for school now, so I am having another coffee in lieu of lunch! I have just found the following, which I thought was interesting. Dorothy Perkins (women's chain shop) have a campaign running to plant 40,000 new trees. In collaboration with the Woodland Trust they have designed a range of clothing. It says on the web site that proceeds go to the charity, which I thought, made it sound like "all" proceeds. Reading further it says that £5 from the sale of a T. shirt goes to the Woodland Trust. This is enough to plant one tree.
There are some interesting facts on the web site, such as the UK is one of the least wooded countries in Europe. It goes on to say about the threat to our planet from global warming and how trees play their part in the life cycles. Trees generate oxygen and store carbon. Climate change is a huge threat to our trees.
The range is quite nice and it may be worth a look. I like the wellies but don't generally go any where that requires them! They also have reusable shopping bags and £1.50 from the sale of those goes to the Woodland Trust.
The web site also allows you to plant a virtual tree. For every 100 virtual trees planted, Dorothy Perkins will plant a real tree. So get over there now and plant your tree! Virtual tree planting.
