I said I might be missing for a few days and I was! I have been quite busy but I did find time to read lots of blogs and I have left a few comments here and there.
On Friday I was out and about most of the day with Coralie and baby Evan. We went to Lidl and got a few cheap groceries and then we had lunch at Coralies house. We then went to Tesco and I got the candles that I wanted to make some Christmas table decorations.
Coralie dropped me back at home at half four. At half past nine in the evening we had a phone call from John to say that Coralie was being sick and had really bad pains. He had phoned the Doctor and because she was doubled up in pain they said to bring her in to the walk in centre so could we go over to babysit Evan.
I had quite a headache so Simon went over for them. They were gone about an hour and Evan was fine. They think Coralie has the bug that is going around and gave her an injection to stop the sickness.
Saskia showing Ellie the Christmas tree
Yesterday we looked after little Ellie while Lisa was at work and Sam was going to Leicester to collect a car. We collected her about 11 in the morning and Sam came and got her at tea time. She is such a little treasure and had me, Simon and Saskia well entertained. She loves my “Nowman” and likes to kiss the end of his nose!
Talking of which here are some photos.
Here he is standing in the corner of the room. Isn't he good? His whole head comes off so that you can fill the body with presents.
Today was the day of the Christmas party in the hospital home where my Mum is. Both Simon and I were going to go so that I didn’t have to drive which I hate when it is dark. I don’t really do night driving. Unfortunately Simon woke up this morning with a very unsettled tummy and it now seems that maybe he has caught Coralies bug as he has been sick all day.
Luckily Saskia came with me, so although I had to do the dreaded driving in the dark it wasn’t quite as stressful as it could have been as I wasn’t alone. We went to Dads house first and as usual left we a whole lot of stuff that he had got for his 2 great grandchildren, Ellie and Evan. He had also got me some wine and a big joint of beef. Thank you Dad.
The Christmas party went well and I think my Mum had a good time. My sister and her husband Pete were there too and we did manage to get Mum up for a little sway around to the music. Dad seemed ok. The hospital staff does a really good job of making the place look really nice and lay on lots of food for patients and families. They have music playing and karaoke too. It went well, all things considered.
Saskia and I left about half an hour before the end so that we could be home at a reasonable time. Simon was still in bed and still being sick when we got in. I am avoiding all contact in the hope that I won’t catch whatever it is. I have too much to do next week to be ill plus I hate being sick. I would rather have a cold than be sick. Hopefully he will feel recovered tomorrow. He has gone to bed now but set his alarm for the normal time so that he can see how he feels. If he is not going in he has to phone before 7.30am so that cover can be arranged to teach his classes.
Loulou with a festive collar!
I did a bit of tidying up in the kitchen before I came up as it was a bit of a mess since I have been out all day. I am not ready for bed as it is only 10.30pm so I am going to catch up on a few friends, enter some competitions and then read my book. Here’s wishing everyone a great week and keep well.
