Whats been happening chez moi

Last Friday was a busy day.  I went into town on the bus with Coralie and the boys.  Both boys were under the weather with streaming colds. I think it was all the nose wiping that I did combined with sloppy germy kisses that led to me going down with the same thing!

We went to John Lewis so that I could get a zip for Ellies dress and also to the market to look for material for a bag.  I didn't get any though as he hadn't got what I was looking for.

Friday evening I went To Coralie's for our sewing session with Denise.  I didn't actually do any sewing as Denise was going through various techniques with me so that I can hopefully get on at home on my own.   That hasn't happened yet as I just haven't been well enough to be bothered.

Saturday was the first day of the school Easter break and Simon will be off for 2 weeks.  He goes back the day after bank holiday Monday.  Saturday was a beautiful day but I missed it as I had a dentist appointment to have my broken tooth repaired.

My dentist is in Spalding which is about a 40 minute drive.  I think most of you know that I used to be scared senseless of the dentist so I have to be sedated even to have my teeth polished!  I'm not scared of Theo though as I know he has his lovely injections and I don't know a thing.

I know some of you laughed when I said I had been "knocked out" but that is what it is like.  It is a deep sedation  induced by injecting a form of Rhohypnol into the vein.  Rhohypnol is what the British media call the "date rape drug" albeit in a slightly different form to what my dentist uses.

I can well appreciate the dangers of such a drug in the wrong hands.  Technically you are conscious and will do as you are told but you are totally out of it and remember nothing.  As far as I am concerned it is like a general anaesthetic.  One minute I am chatting to Theo and watching him stick the stuff in my arm the next I am waking up at home in bed and have lost most of the day.

I know some people wouldn't like that but it is the only way that I will go to the dentist.  It costs a fortune too.  £130 just for the injection without treatment!!!  It's worth it though.

Anyway, that took care of Saturday.  Sunday I woke up with the most tremendous sore throat and runny nose.  I don't believe it a bloody cold to start the holiday period.  Wonderful.  I always seem to catch anything that's going.   Everything I catch seems to lay me low too.  Simon can get a cold and be more or less ok and shrug it off within days.  Not me.

I did fight against it though and we did go to the allotment for about 4 hours.  We got the last of the potatoes in the ground.  King Edwards, Sarpo Mira and .... I can't remember the third lot without looking it up!  My brain is so fuzzy!  We also planted out some cabbage seedlings and sewed some leek seeds.  We cooked some hot dogs for lunch but had to come home after that as I wasn't up to any more.

Yesterday despite feeling crap we drove out to another town called March where there was a bike shop that we wanted to visit.  I should probably explain that I have been thinking about getting a new bike for a while.  I have begun to ride my bike quite a bit more this year.

Actually my bike needs a blog of it's own so I'll stop my rambling here and do a second blog!
