OK! He wants a TV! So that worked out ok,then. The only problem now is that he has a pile of marking to do for school tomorrow and a TV to set up! I think the new TV is winning at the moment. I wonder what you tell the kids in school, as to why their home work has not been marked.
If a kid comes into school having not done their homework does the excuse of having had to set up a new TV, work for them? I bet it doesn't!
I wonder if I can get away with buying anything else using the excuse that it "just fell into the trolley"? Maybe not as I think we may be rapidly running out of money now!! Maybe I need to get a proper job?
I do actually work occasionally! In case there are some of my new friends out there who don't know what I do, I will tell you. I have the grand title of........... "senior inviglator"! This means that I work at the same school as Simon and I am the senior inviglator for exams and tests and anything else that they decide to call me in for!
I used to only work in the summer and a few days in January. Over the last few years this has changed due to new rules that were brought in by the teaching unions and the examination boards. All schools must now use "outside" invigilators for public exams. In practise, they have discovered that we are a cheaper alternative to supply teachers so they tend to call us in for all sorts of tests now.
In fact, one of the deputy heads recently commented that "teachers won't be allowed to even do a simple class quizz soon without you lot there to invigilate!" That is of course not entirely true but I do certainly have a lot more work now than I did previously.
I tend to work fairly solidly from May through to the end of June and then all sorts of odd days throughout the rest of the year. It works well for me as I have loads and loads of time where I have no work at all and can do exactly what I please. Lots of time to spare to try and help out my Dad with my Mum. I can of course refuse work if the need arises as there is another senior invigilator. All schools must now have a senior invigilator on the premises if there are public exams taking place.
It does have the disadvantage of no regular income! Hence the need to "borrow" Simons bank card!!! Teee he he! One last question to all you men out there.... why is it that you assume you know how to put things together with out even the teensiest glance at the instructions?????? We could present you with a DIY nulear reactor and you would still assume that you know how to put it together with out reference to the instructions. YOU DO NOT. THEY GIVE YOU INSTRUCTIONS FOR A REASON.
