Well I know this is late but they say better late than never! I am afraid that I just didn’t have time on Thursday so I am doing this now. What, WHAT, I can hear you all saying. Chris’s blogging jar of course! This week or I mean last week it was: Blogging Jar....Have you ever spent any time out of your Country?
The answer to that is a big fat yes! I have been to lots of places and I think I have probably told you about most of them before so I decided to opt for the very first time that I left my country for distant shores.
Well they weren’t really that distant; I went To Austria in 1973. It was at Easter and my school ran a trip to Austria to go skiing. I was just 13 years old and I had never been in an airplane before. I had never skied before either so the whole thing was a real big deal.
Actually I had a few lessons on the dry skip slope at Welwyn Garden City before I went but it did nothing to prepare me for the real thing! LOL. The photo below proves that!
We flew from Luton airport on a Monarch airplane. It was a lovely pastel green colour but you can’t see that very well in the photo. I had to get these photos out of an old album and they were totally brown, no real colour so I am really surprised to see that now I have scanned them there is a bit of colour there. well there is in the airplane one anyway!
This next photo is of me. Look how well I was doing! I’m not the sporty athletic sort at all so I am not sure why I even wanted to go on a skiing holiday! I did have a great time but I have done that now, got the T. Shirt as the saying goes so I shan’t be doing it again!
My kind of holiday now is a 5 * hotel, next to the beach, hot sunshine, a swimming pool, good food, lots of wine, oh and a good book or 2!
