Well the final day of April is living up to it's name here in Peterborough, we are having lots of April showers! They are very heavy but quite short. It's not too cold though. Hopefully with the advent of May the summer weather will begin.
I have completed one week of the "No diet, diet". Is it working? Well I weighed myself this morning and I have lost weight............a quarter of one pound!! Yes, that's a whole four ounces. I'm not exactly excited! However all is not lost, I'm still applying my "hint of tan" moisturiser so I am looking much slimmer!!
Today is day 8, or day 1 of week two and the daily task is to be more or less assertive depending on your normal disposition. I think I am normally fairly assertive so today I have to be unassertive. That's a difficult one since I'm here at home on my own!
The dogs are here though, so maybe I should let them make all the decisions today! Simon and I are going out tonight though with a group from school so maybe I will have to try and be "unassertive" there! The book suggests various ways that you can do this; some are more involved than others. It suggests letting someone else choose or decide for you. It says this can be as simple as letting someone else choose your sandwich for you! So, maybe I'll let Simon choose my meal!
We are going to the Paul Pry pub where we went on Saturday for a meal and a drink. All the Ex Walton School staff from the technology department are going. Most of them are now at Voyager but some did leave and they are coming tonight. Obviously I was never in the technology department but I have known them all for years.
What have I been doing today? Well once I got over my wild excitement at loosing quarter of a pound, it was time to get on with jobs. I don't have too many today. I've done the normal kitchen and bathroom clean up and hoovered. I also cleaned the kitchen window. I have a tiny bit of ironing to do and then I shall have lunch.
This afternoon I am going to do some of my embroidery for a while and then Coralie is popping in around three. She will be bringing washing for me to do, so the washing machine will be on again. I am hoping that we can go out to the shops as I want to buy an outdoor clock made of terracotta that I have seen advertised. It may be that Coralie hasn't got enough time though.
Once she's gone home, I am going to have a nice relaxing bath before glamming myself up ready to go out. Simon said he wil be home about 4.30pm and he will have to walk the dogs before he gets ready. I hope the rain stops otherwise the dogs will be wet and muddy and need drying before we can go out. I thought the rain had stopped but it's absolutely pouring down again.
Right, that's it for now. Time to go and put the kettle on for coffee and do that bit of ironing. I am having home made soup for lunch.
