Where the heck has this week gone? It surely can’t be Friday? The weeks just fly by so fast I can’t keep up. Baby Jessica was one week old yesterday. The photo below was taken yesterday when they called in here for a short while. They were on their way to the hospital for Jessica’s new born hearing test. Miss Ellie stayed with me and we went to Coralie’s where I was looking after the boys for an hour so Coralie could have her hair done.
They do amuse me, Ellie and Evan. They play quite nicely together most of the time. They say such funny things. They were so engrossed in their game that I was able to just sit and drink my coffee. Flynn was having his nap. He is properly walking now. He went from a couple of steps to real walking in a matter of days this week. He will be one year old next Friday. Where did that year go to? Seems like yesterday that Evan and I were excitedly waiting to get the phone call. Actually it seems like just yesterday that Coralie and I were walking round and round that hospital trying to get her labour going with Evan.
Simon and I have been blessed with a grandchild per year for the last 4 years: 2007 – Ellie, 2008 – Evan, 2009 – Flynn and 2010 – Jessica. Who will be giving us one in 2011 I wonder???? How fantastic would that be?
I have just remembered that with all the excitement last Thursday I forgot to tell you all about Alfie. He went back to the vet last Thursday evening and he removed half of his stitches. He still has 10 left in as it is such a deep wound and the vet didn’t want to take any chances. He will go back next Thursday to hopefully have the last of them taken out. They will have been in over a month!
The very good news though, was that it was not cancer. It was some kind of hair follicle tumour. There is a very fancy scientific name for it but I can’t remember. The vet was able to remove the whole thing plus 2 satellite lumps that we didn’t know were there. They were not cancerous either. So it was excellent news and I meant to share it with you but then of course I got the phone call to go to Sam’s house and it was forgotten.
I have been having a fairly relaxed day today. I am pretty much up to date with my jobs, just a bit of ironing to do later. I have a stew in my pressure cooker and it smells lovely. Oh yeah while I was getting the stew ready I decided that all my chillies were dry enough to be crumbled up into flakes and put in a jar. I know, I know, be careful when handling chillies! I did scrub my hands after but obviously not well enough because I had to put my hand to my mouth ten minutes ago because of a sneeze and I now have lips like a trout! They sting!
Simon will be home soon as it is Friday. I don’t think he is out tonight as they apparently got the electric car sorted out last night. He is out all day tomorrow with Sam and a friend from school. They are racing the electric car in Skegness I think. I assume it will still go ahead if the weather is bad. They better hope the wind is with them rather than against them! I shall be having a nice relaxed day here at home.
Right I think that’s all for now. I am going to get those baptism photos in an album but here is a taster for you........
Great Granddad Alf with little Miss Jessica.
Aunty Saskia with her new niece.
Aunty Coralie with Jessica and Flynn.
I just touched my ear and it is now stinging like hell. Going to scrub my hands again.
