Yes, I’m blogging 2 days in a row! I am having a very strict half hour day today. I got up later than normal as I was feeling lethargic again but I have a lot to get done so the half hour system it is. Someone asked me the other day what the half hour system is.... well I don’t want to explain it again but if you look through my blogs and check my tags you will find it. Think I might patent the idea seeing as so many of you like it!
One of the things I am going to do today is cull my contacts list. I feel it is appropriate to call it a contacts list as it seems to have more contacts than friends on it at the moment. There are quite a few who I haven’t heard from in over a year. I hate that. I always end up wondering what happened to them. I am not talking about occasional bloggers here I mean the ones you thought were friends who were around every day and who suddenly disappear.
Anyone remember Classy Filly from the Yahoo 360 days? She did come to Multiply but she vanished a few years back. Her blog was still there for a long time; maybe it still is, I don’t know as I eventually deleted her. What about Christine Stuart in Illinois, Geraldine Jones here in the UK, Marian Rogers in Ireland, and more recently Robbie Sutton in New York. Where did they all go? Are they dead or alive? It is a horrid feeling to be left with, that some awful misfortune has befallen them.
Other friends such as Larry Woller in Illinois have actually said that they will no longer be blogging and that is fine because then we know that they are ok and well and happy.
Friends come into our lives in all sorts of ways and for all sorts of reasons. There is a poem / quote ......call it what you will:
I believe people come into our lives for a reason a season or a lifetime and each experience should be valued for what it is.
Some people come into our lives to meet a need they or you have - the reason.
Some people come into our lives during changes in our lives - a season.
Others come into our lives and never leave, they are there in some capacity for life - a lifetime.
We have to value each relationship for what it is, no regrets no anger, enjoy each one.
The internet is just one more way in which people come into our lives. The above quote still applies. The internet is no different. I have made contacts that have stayed only a short time. I have made friends who have stayed a while, and I have made several really good friends who feel like family and who I believe will be “lifers”.
I am also going to delete a couple of “contacts” who I feel bring me down. That is to say that they are always moaning and complaining, rarely joyful. Now I know we all like to have our moan here! I certainly do! BUT, I hope that more often than not I have good stuff to say. I also know that there are some friends who have had terrible things happen in their lives and it is not to them that I refer here. I have just a couple who seem to think the world owes them something..... Well before I delete them I just want to say get over yourself. How can you keep friends with so much negativity?
Before anyone asks questions, I am not airing my dirty linen here, I am just quietly deleting. No names mentioned. You make your friend choices and I make mine. The only way that you will know if I am referring to you is if you are deleted! LOL! Mind you these people hardly blog anyway so they probably won’t even notice or read this! Que sera sera!
Got to go now as it is 11am and time for my next work stint. Back later.. May post this then or add to it throughout the day!
Wow that half hour went quick. I have been in the front garden and I have stripped the last 2 tomato plants out there. The green ones have gone in the green house hopefully to ripen and the few red ones have gone in for another batch of tomato sauce which I have bubbling away right now. It’s a good recipe; maybe I’ll take photos and post it here. Ok I’m going to post this now and I might be back later as well, I’ll see!
