Stumbling around

While I was at Coralie’s house she told me about a new website she has found.  www.stumbleupon.com.  I had never heard of it.  It is a sort of search engine site.  You join up and then choose a list of topics in which you are interested.  Then you press the Stumble button and it will load a page at random based on your interests. Now the special bit is that once you have read the page and maybe explored the website you tell it either “yes, I like this” Or “no I don’t like this.  It has intuitive software that will then enable it to gradually get to know the kind of stuff you like and will (hopefully) give you more and more stuff that is relevant to you.  Something like that anyway!  Coralie said she is hooked.
When I got home I gave it a try out for myself and I can see why she is hooked it does give you some amazing sites that you probably would not find on your own.  To begin with I told it my interests were dogs, books, crafts, gardening, cooking and family history.  I pressed the Stumble button.  The very first website it took me to was: http://pooktre.com/   I can see how it thought I might like this as it combines craft and gardening!  Take a look at it.  I have never seen anything quite like it. It is about a couple who have mastered the art of tree shaping!
It apparently began when they decided to make a living chair! They have progressed on to more things since.  It is the people trees that amazed me. Incredible.  They are all plum trees.
So my first hit was a good one I liked it!  I have been playing around with it all evening and have been amazed at the amount of websites that it has found for me that I would never have found otherwise.  I have saved lots of really good craft sites and my brain is just over flowing with all sorts of ideas about things that I want to make and do.  The only difficulty is making a choice of what to have a go at first and when to fit in the time!
So if you don’t mind getting hooked on another thing I suggest you have a go at Stumbling!  I can recommend it.
