Things I’m Grateful For on Sunday 21st September

Today’s list of things to be grateful for or appreciate:
1.    A second day of warm sunny weather with no rain.
2.    Traditional eggs and bacon for breakfast, courtesy of Simon.
3.    Getting all my pots and hanging baskets refilled with lovely colourful winter pansies.
4.    Spending time with Ellie today when we took her to the exotic pet refuge.
5.    People like those that run the Exotic pet refuge.   They take in all the animals that are hurt or homeless and keep them safe and fed.
6.    A lovely hot relaxing bath before dinner.
7.    The extra money that comes with Simon's promotion at the new school.  He just got paid yesterday!
8.    The new series of "Strictly Come Dancing".  I really enjoyed watching it last night and also the results show tonight.
9.    Finding some very interesting web sites with ideas for "alternative" camping, such as Wigwams, Yurts and Tipi’s.  They look interesting for next year maybe.
10.  A lovely roast beef dinner with pineapple upside down cake and   cream to finish.
11. Saskia for making the dessert.
12. For having time to read my book.
13. Being reminded of this poem:
"What is this life if full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare?

No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.

No time to see when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.

No time to see in broad daylight
Streams full of stars like skies at night.

No time to turn at beauty’s glance,
And watch her feet how they dance.

No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.

A poor life this if full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare."
- W. Davies 1871-1940.

Things I want to do
I really want to get my bedroom sorted out and tidy tomorrow.
Take back my library books.
Things I’ve done for others:
1.    Took Ellie out to give Sam and Lisa time to trim their hedge.
2.      Told Simon he can have the lovely new camera that I won.  His camera is broken.
