It’s been a busy day of catching up on house work that didn’t get done over the weekend. Lots of washing and ironing, hoovering from top to bottom making cakes and general tidying. We had a busy weekend with the visit up to Stevenage.
Simon has been at home all day as he wasn’t feeling up to going to work today. He hasn’t been sick all day though and thinks he will be ok for work tomorrow. He seems to be better as he was up most of the day and doing school work and watching TV. He wanted an early night so he has gone to bed in Verity’s room where he also spent last night in the hope that I wouldn’t catch his germs. So far Saskia and I seem to be ok. I hope it remains that way as I have lots to do in preparation for Christmas and can’t possibly be sick.
I have had a pleasant evening. I watched Eastenders which is getting quite exciting as all the story lines are reaching their conclusions, no doubt just in time for some momentous event on Christmas day. I love Eastenders but seriously you wouldn’t want to live in Walford, it’s far too dangerous!
Since then I have been doing stuff on my computer. I have visited a few friends, entered some competitions and ordered some ink cartridges. I have also had to email Marks & Spencer again over the huge mess that they have made over my online order. I will not be ordering online from them again. I forgot to mention yesterday that I put some more photos in my November album and added a new December one but some of you have found them anyway.
Now I am going to do my Tuesday Thirteen as by the time I finish and get it posted it will be Tuesday! So..........Thirteen Things That Have Been Annoying Me Lately
1. No one listens to me. They pretend they are listening they even look like they are listening sometimes, but no, the words just role on right through. Or if they do listen they always promptly forget them and the meanings behind them
2. Tele-sales calls. Despite being registered with the organisation that is supposed to stop all these calls for you, I still get several each day. They all follow the same format, they all get my name wrong, they all ask me how I’m doing , as if they care, then they try and sell me something, or worse pretend that I have won something.
3. It really annoys me when people get my name wrong. Just how hard is it to pronounce Glennsansum?
4. Why is everyone in such a hurry? How can anyone truly be enjoying life when they are racing through it at break neck speeds? Just slow down, clam down, and stop rushing from one thing to the next. It irritates me that the entire world seems to be on speed.
4. Speaking of speed........why is it necessary to endanger everyone on the road simply to get to the lights 5 seconds faster than me? And who are you talking to on your phone that it's worth risking mine and my children's life? Oh, and those little blinking lights that you have on your car? They are there for a reason. If you have a license, you should know the reason. All the idiots on the road that mean I risk my life every time I get in my car REALLY annoy me!
5. Naughty bad dogs that keep on refusing to settle at night. For goodness sake they are 8 years old and haven’t done this since they were pups. My kitchen door is going to collapse soon under the weight of 2 Dalmatians frantic to escape. We think it may be that Loulou is cold as she is often shivering. We always leave the radiator on full for them though so I can’t understand it. Both dogs have proper “human” duvets in their boxes but we have taken to covering them with blankets too.
6. Phone calls from charities are as bad as the tele-sales calls. I only donate to charities of my choice that have special meaning for me or are to do with issues that I care about. I will already be donating to those so they don’t need to phone me. I hate the way in which they try to guilt trip me into giving more. It won't work

7. People who “forget” to put stamps on their Christmas cards!!! Last week the post man put a card through our door to say that we had an item with insufficient postage on it and that we would have to go to the main office to pay for it. It is a drive of about 4 miles. When you get there you have to pay first before they go off to retrieve your item, so you have no idea what you are paying for. Ours turned out to be a tiny little Christmas card from a cousin that we don’t see very often, it cost us £1.47 to get it. I daren’t even factor in the cost of the petrol to drive over there. Thanks for that.....XXXX & XXXXX!!
8. That’s another thing that has annoyed me recently the number of people who are sending Christmas cards that are smaller than the tags I put on presents. I don’t mean to be ungrateful but it just seems a bit pathetic. Come on cards are cheap.

9. People who are late really get my goat. GET YOURSELF A WATCH AND USE IT!
10. People who don’t phone to let you know when they are running late. You all know what a worry wart I am and it only takes a 30 second phone call. You all carry mobile phones....USE THEM! Oh and saying you didn’t realise the time is not good enough. GET A WATCH!
11. I also find it really annoying when your mobiles are switched off and I can’t get you. SWITCH THE BLOODY THINGS ON. And yes before my family members point out that mine is never on, that is because I hate them and I never use it. You all know this so don’t bother phoning it. I am however nearly always at home so you can phone my land line. I might well ignore it though in case it’s a tele-sales call! If you really want me an email usually works as I am surgically attached to my keyboard!
12. Negative people. I know that I am a “glass half empty” person and prone to be a bit pessimistic, (or realistic as I call it) but I am fed up with just how much negativity seems to be floating around. There is just no way that every single moment of every single day is nothing but tragedy and stress. Your life is no harder than anyone else's life. Stop being so dramatic. Stop whining. Stop feeling sorry for yourself. Stop blaming everyone else for your unhappiness. Just STOP! I feel sometimes that I am Ok but I am being dragged down by everyone else’s problems.
13. The horrid cold weather and rain is really getting on my nerves. Bring on global warming I say! (Joke, before you all start slamming me!) If it is absolutely necessary that it be this cold, then there should be snow to enjoy. Lots and lots of deep white stuff so we can make “Now men” (That’s an “Ellie-ism”) and watch from the window as lovely big fat flakes drift slowly down in swirly patterns. We hardly ever get snow in our little corner of England and if we do it’s half an inch of slushy stuff that disappears over night.

As a final thought or number 14 if you like.........those pesky, horrid, thieving, fat, nasty grey squirrels REALLY wind me up! One day soon I am going to commit “squirrelacide”.
There all finished and I can post it as it is a quarter past midnight and officially Tuesday! Going to read my book for a while now.
