The wedding of Verity and Steve took place at 1.30pm on the 14th of August 2010 at Willingham church. The reception was held at Willingham Hall which is just across the road. They had a marquee in the grounds.
On the Thursday the marquee was erected and we were able to check that all was going to plan when we went to the wedding rehearsal at the church. On the Friday we were there bright and early to do various jobs. The tables and chairs had to be set out and the table cloths laid. Then there were all the napkins to roll and tie and name place cards to go out etc. Luckily Saskia was there to help too.
Simon and Steve had men’s jobs to do such as installing a fridge for the soft drinks. They were also supposed to be hanging the bunting but they were only able to do inside the marquee as it poured with really heavy rain all day. No way could we put the bunting up outside it would have been ruined.
We decided that we would have no choice but to do it on the morning of the wedding. Once all the preparations were done Simon and I drove Steve and his son Curtis back to Cambridge and left Verity with Saskia, Sam, Lisa and Ellie. They were all staying at the hotel that night.
